The Gramophone Speakers
The Gramophone is a highly exclusive Hi-Fi loudspeaker handcrafted in Sweden.
Standing 1.2 metres high and made of carbon fibre and stainless steel, the technology has been
developed by three of the companies behind the Swedish super sports car manufacturer,
Koenigsegg – Ergonomidesign, Eker Design, Carbocomp – and all commissioned by us.
The attention to detail has been immaculate, from the overall sound quality right down to each
and every component. We are very proud of our achievements!
Since The Gramophone was designed to make a statement and to stand out for its sound and
aesthetics every aspect of developing a loudspeaker had to be questioned.
Nothing could be taken for granted.
We needed to come up with a magnificent, sound enhancing design. The result was The Gramophone,
which integrates several sound improving features in one gorgeous design.
A design that plays a central role for the sound characteristics of The Gramophone.
At the heart of the design is a full range, coaxial driver developed by SEAS which reproduces the whole
frequency range from a point source and minimizes phase differences. The specifically-designed
curved horn in which the coaxial driver is placed amplifies the higher frequencies and the open
cabinet amplifies the lower frequencies mechanically. Finally, echoes are damped very effectively by
the precise narrowing of the cabinet.
The cabinet’s exclusive features make it possible to create a more powerful sound without distortion
than would otherwise be possible.
